We’re a rescue household — all four of our dogs came to us looking for second chances — and they keep us honest about the basics: scoop, show up, repeat.

Ruby, our Catahoula mix, is the steady vet. She didn’t arrive bold; she learned to trust the world by taking small, careful steps. Ruby reminds us that steady habits, not big gestures, are what build reliability. When we rescued ruby we believe she was abused by a man, it took her weeks for me to gain her trust as initially she would just cower when any man walked by or got too close. Ruby has grown to be the dog who loves back scratches and she’s become a much lazier dog as she’s gotten up and age and like most of us she’d rather stay indoors on hot summer days.

Clio, our Great Dane/Border Collie mix, is a Great Dane size with Border Collie energy, so I’m sure you can imagine how that goes. When we got Clio she was such a large, hyper puppy who didn’t yet know how to let out all that energy — she quickly grew on this family much like she grew herself. She is the protector of our household and the nanny dog to our son: lanky enthusiasm with a watchful heart. She dives into new things with curiosity more than certainty, turning practice into play. Clio shows that a willingness to try—again and again.

Blippi — yes, that Blippi. Our son picked the name, and it fits perfectly. He’s a Vizsla mix: a loving, high-energy lap dog with a drive that never quits. Blippi is all focus and persistence. He fetches and fetches until the motion becomes muscle memory, showing how quiet repetition turns “I’ll try” into “I can.”

Scoopy‑Doo — our newest addition — joined the pack when the shelters overflowed and we couldn’t stand by. He arrived curious and cautious, and in no time his personality bloomed: bright, sweet, and pure puppy energy. He’s either all throttle—zooming through the yard, nose to the ground, investigating every leaf—or laying on the vent for one of his classic dog naps.

That’s how we run K-9 Cleanup Unit LLC. Our rescues teach us to show up with what we’ve got and do the job—scooping yards reliably, week after week. No perfection required: just action, consistency, and a little patience. Ruby, Clio, Blippi, and Scoopy‑Doo — four rescues, four paces, one lesson: good habits (and clean yards) come from showing up every day.

How We Got Started

K-9 Cleanup Unit was founded for two very personal reasons. First, to honor Dingo — our late Australian Kelpie and the dog who started it all. Dingo was with me from 2012, before marriage, before our child was born, and before any of the other dogs we've rescued over the years. We lost him in late 2025, and starting this business was our way of keeping his memory alive. Second, because we know the struggle firsthand. Between managing a yard full of dogs and chasing a toddler with zero awareness of where he steps, we've lived the cycle — scoop the yard, clean the shoes, mop the floors. We built this service because no one should have to stress about the things you enjoy, family and pets.

The Kelpie Spirit

Our logo is modeled after Dingo, and we carry the Australian Kelpie spirit into everything we do. Kelpies are known for their loyalty, their tireless work ethic, and their remarkable ability to spot the smallest details from a distance. That's exactly the attitude we bring to your yard — every visit, every time. It's not just a logo. It's how we work. It's how we carry him with us everyday.
